Really pleased with our driver’s line-up, which is why we wished to confirm it of the silly season forward, which appears to be ramping up. Carlos has been extremely quick every weekend and then Lando specifically, he also is extremely quick, an instant learner. He’s not making some of the mistakes – knock on real wood – that you maybe foresee from a rookie driver. Q: It is still relatively early in the season to be committing to next year’s driver line-up. Why have you dedicated now? ZB: We like what we see.
Both motorists are doing an excelling job. In Lando’s case Specifically, he now has races under his belt that we’ve seen him under great pressure enough, we’ve seen him having to contest his team-mate, we’ve seen him at the front end of the field. We’ve seen enough rounded elements to his generating to learn that he’s one into the future stars of the sport.

Again with the ridiculous season ramping up, you want to not be part of that, keep our mind down and just be focussed on what we’re doing. Q: Tanabe-san, congratulations on the win in Austria last periods, great for Honda. How was the triumph received back in Sakura? TT: Many thanks very much. It was a great result and the win came as a result of all of our Sakura users and the people who have worked because of this project and they are extremely much satisfied and delighted.
On the other hand, everyone is before motivated now more than, I believe, and we will keep working very hard to boost our performance. Q: Does this win influence Honda’s decision in which to stay Formula One beyond 2020? TT: In my own position, as the specialized director of Honda F1, I’m not very involved with the contract issues – but Personally I think, after the get, a very good reaction from inside Honda.
So, we will see. Q: And exactly how confident are you being competitive on all circuits going forward? TT: We had a great race in Austria – but we know our current position compared to the top runners. There is a space there still. We keep pushing to obtain additional performance, with our members as well as the Red Bull team. Q: Christian, we’re talking about that win in Austria.
From your viewpoint, how unexpected was it? Christian HORNER: It had been totally unexpected. We thought if we could sneak a podium there it would be a great result, going into the grand Prix. Q: And did Max’s performance shock you? CH: Yes and no. I think Max has been delivering at such a higher level virtually since Montreal this past year that nothing tends to amaze you with him.
But the calmness with which he came back from the anti-stall at the start… He was probably one of the calmest men out there. He fought hard but was and fair in a position to control the race and control his situation perfectly. It was certainly one of his absolute best victories.
